The Circle of Life

Collins English Dictionary defines  The Circle of Life” as :

“Nature’s way of taking and giving back to earth. It symbolizes the universe being sacred and divine  It represents the infinite nature of energy, meaning if something dies it gives new life to another.”

I experienced The Circle of Life at its  most basic in 2016 – the deaths of two parents and births of two grandchildren.  Sorrow lightened by joy.  Happiness tempered by sadness. Tears to honor the past and to welcome the future.

“Why in the world” you may be thinking, “is Lisa writing about The Circle of Life in her divorce law blog?”

Because recognizing the beauty of the circle, rather than focusing on the finite points of my life timeline, has helped me get through the most difficult days in 2016.

Consider that, like the passings of my family members, your divorce, as difficult as it may  be, is a finite point on your life timeline.  It isn’t your entire Circle of Life.
